Town Hall Style “Meet & Greet” with Jeff Bennett for Puyallup City Council

You’re invited to join Jeff & Shannon Bennett on Thursday, September 25th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Puyallup Activity Center to chat about the future of Puyallup. The event is a “Town Hall Style” Meet & Greet for all voters in District 1 and throughout Puyallup to ask Jeff questions and discuss solutions to the problems facing seniors, youth and families our city.

A lot of people in District 1 know Jeff as “Officer Bennett” from his years as the Community Outreach Officer with the Puyallup Police Department. He has since retired after 23 years as a police officer, and transitioned into a second career in the solar industry.

You might have also seen Jeff and his wife Shannon riding bikes in the neighborhood with their dogs, Maggie and Lola. They have always been passionate about improving the quality of life in their neighborhood, and that passion prompted Jeff’s decision to step up and run for city council this year. They face a well-known incumbent who is running for a third term on city council after of a life in state politics.

Jeff feels it’s time for a new perspective from a 23 year veteran police officer who’s been in close touch with the concerns of neighbors all the while he was growing up and raising his daughters here in Puyallup. One of the many concerns Jeff has about the incumbent is how he cut Senior Center and Library staff, as well as getting rid of the parking lot serving those critical centers of life for seniors, youth and families in Puyallup.

The incumbent hasn’t offered a viable alternative for the loss of Senior Center and downtown event parking, and his staffing cuts caused the loss of Activity Center rentals and will affect Puyallup Library services right as the library finally has its new Teen Zone ready. Jeff has proposals to solve these issues, and the September 25th Meet & Greet is a great chance for everyone to help in Jeff’s efforts to restore and enhance services for seniors, youth and families in Puyallup.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at the Puyallup Activity Center this Thursday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. to share refreshments and hors d’oeuvres while discussing campaign issues with Jeff.
