Endorsement: Puyallup Public Works Teamsters

I am humbled and honored to announce that our campaign has been endorsed by the Puyallup Public Works Teamsters, Local 313. This endorsement means a lot to me.

When I was the Community Outreach Officer For the Puyallup Police Department from 2015 to 2021, I routinely relied on the Puyallup Public Works crew as a whole to assist me in my day to day operations.

When I was down on the Puyallup RiverWalk trail and I needed help moving debris and garbage, I called Parks staff.

When I was on the side of a right-of-way and I needed garbage moved, I called Street Dept. Staff.  I never was told no.

When I was a regular patrol officer and there was a collision at 3:30 in the morning, we called Street’s staff out and we had barricades within an hour.  These people were tremendous help 24/7.

In the mid 2010s and early 2020s, the only resources that the Community Outreach Officer had were internal resources within the city. It was not always enough. The Teamsters 313 staff stood up and filled that void and then some.

The Teamsters to me were indispensable. They were the people that literally kept Puyallup’s streets clean and safe 24 hours a day.

I am so extremely proud and honored to have these hard-working men and women endorse me in my campaign for Puyallup City Council! I have asked and received several endorsements but this one is personal and it truly means the world to me.

As mentioned in the letter below, the Teamsters know what’s real. “Jeff stands with labor and believes in protecting the right to organize, ensuring fair wages, and investing in infrastructure and services that benefit everyone – not just a few. He is not afraid to ask tough questions or stand up for what is right, even when it’s not politically convenient.”

I’d invite you to read the full letter below.

Thank you again, to the Puyallup Public Works Teamsters. Let’s win this thing.
